Eileen T. “Bugsy” Hanna of Oxford

On October 28, 2010 Eileen “Bugsy” Hanna passed away of colon cancer at home in Oxford.
Eileen was born in Wilmington, Del. on November 27, 1967 to parents George S. and Catherine A. (Jack) Hanna now residing in Landenberg.
Besides her parents, Eileen is survived by her husband, Michael R. Versuk, brother SSgt. Stewart Hanna (USMC) and his wife Amanda.
She was a graduate of Kennett Square H.S. in 1985.
She worked for Meridian bank in Kennett Square and DuPont FCU at Louviers before going on to working for various telecommunication companies for the past 18 years (Bell South, Wiltel, Verizon) and most recently Shared Technologies in Norristown.
Eileen’s number one passion was horses and she started riding and showing in local gymkhanas at the age of 4. Since 1988, she competed professionally in various barrel racing associations up and down the east coast as well as competing in NBHA World Championships in Augusta, Ga., and Washington International Show and the Womens Professional Rodeo Association in Alvarado Texas. For the last nine years she ranked in the top ten of the First Frontier Pro-Rodeo Circuit finals in Harrisburg.
Throughout her courageous battle with cancer and treatment, she continued working, mentoring children, riding and competing. Eileen will be dearly missed by family and friends. Remember her as she was…a champion barrel race…an expert horsewoman and a lover of life.
Funeral services will be private.
